Ricardo was the second generation boss of the Vongola Famiglia, inherited from Giotto. He is known for his unique Dying Will Flame, the Flame of Wrath. It is said that during his reign, he was the fear of the underworld because of his Flame's incredibly destructive power.

Character Outline

Personality

As his personality has been compared to Xanxus, it can be inferred that he was impulsive and brash.

Appearance

Ricardo has long spiky black hair that is tied to a slim ponytail. He wears a maroon two-piece suit with an olive dress shirt. Ricardo has green eyes, forked eyebrows, and V-shaped sideburns.

History

Not much has been revealed about Ricardo's past. It can be assumed that he is related to Giotto since only those with the Blood of Vongola are able to wield the Sky Vongola Ring.

After Daemon Spade betrayed the first generation Guardians, he later became Ricardo's Mist Guardian through unknown circumstances. Their relationship with each other has not been shown, but Ricardo was probably admired by Daemon because his personality fit Daemon's ideal Vongola Boss. According to the Timoteo, the ways of the Vongola Famiglia began to change starting from Ricardo's reign. When his reign ended, Ricardo was succeeded by the unnamed Vongola Terzo.

He briefly appears in a flashback during the explanation of Xanxus's Flame of Wrath.

Future Arc

Ricardo appears along with the rest of the previous Vongola Bosses when Tsunayoshi Sawada underwent the Vongola Trial. While Tsuna was trapped in ten-years-later Hibari's Porcospino Nuvola, the Sky Vongola Ring presented images of the past sins and crimes of the Vongola to his head.Template:Ref The previous bosses demanded Tsuna to accept the bloody history of the Vongola if he wanted to be strong, but Tsuna refused to do so as he would rather destroy the Vongola than accept their sins. Vongola Primo and the other bosses accepted Tsuna's resolve granted him the succession of the Vongola Famiglia. Tsuna's X-Gloves were then upgraded into the X-Gloves Version Vongola Ring as proof that he was given the Vongola inheritance.

Ricardo makes another brief appearance when Olgert notes his resemblance to Xanxus.Template:Ref

Ricardo was stated to have unrivaled combat abilities and an intensity which Xanxus also shares.

Flame of Wrath - Vongola Secondo was the only Vongola Boss that did not use a weapon, but instead an ability called the "Flame of Wrath." It was said to be the most destructive Flame among all of the Vongola Bosses. When using it, he wields no supporting weapon and instead only shoots his Flames out from his hands.

According to Xanxus, it was because of Ricardo's power that Giotto moved to Japan, out of fear of facing the new boss's anger himself. Daemon Spade however, later states that this is false, claiming that it was he who forced Giotto to step down despite being one of his Guardians.
The name Ricardo means "powerful leader".
