Vongola Familia
The Vongola family has long since been the most powerful Mafia family in all of Italy. They have had several other Mafia families serving them, including a few members from the infamous Arcobaleno. They also possess the Vongola Rings, which have been around since the founding of the Mafia underworld, and are usually in possession of the main Vongola members. Those who inherit the The Vongola family bloodline have certain unique traits like Hyper intuition. The Vongola family is represented by the Dying Will Bullet and the Dying Will Flame. Each of the Vongola Bosses could produce a sky dying will flames of their own and possessed the Vongola Sky ring, so at times possessing this type of flame is proof of being apart of the Vongola bloodline (i.e. Xanxus and his flame). It has been revealed by Reborn that the Vongola Family was formerly a group of vigilantes that fought on to protect the people. Vongola in Italian is clam.

Vongola Primo
Character Summary The Founder of the Vongola Famiglia and thus its first boss and the creator of the Zero Point Breakthrough. He first appeared in chapter 158. After his retirement, he moved to Japan and started a family, of which Tsuna is a descendant. He is the great-great-great grandfather of Tsuna. Tsuna has repeatedly been shown to be very much like him, as they have the same weapon and techniques (including the Zero-Point Breakthrough), similar appearances, and equally unorthodox Families (the first Family included kings, military men, rival mafiosos, and religious people). Their Guardians are quite similar as well: Yamamoto, Hibari, and Mukuro have already been shown to be very much like their predecessors in appearance, weapon of choice, and personality.
Primo's Guardians
- Sun: Noted by Lussuria to be able to break things with just the pressure of his punches. So far, the similarity in weapon of choice and EXTREME attitude show Ryohei's resemblance to him, and it is strongly implied that Ryohei's Maximum Cannon is similar to (one of) the first Sun Guardian's technique(s).
- Thunder: Little revealed. It is highly unlikely that the infant Lambo resembles him, but the Lambo of twenty years later most probably does.
- Storm: Little revealed.
- Rain: Japanese, loved music. It was said that there were none who could match his skills with the blade. He physically resembles Yamamoto, and Reborn compared Yamamoto giving up baseball to the first Rain Guardian giving up music: both did so to excel at swordsmanship for the sake of their friends in the Vongola Family. Specifically, the first Rain Guardian sold his instruments for a trio of short swords and a single long sword which closely resemble the Rain Swallow's Cambio Forma.
- Mist: A dangerous illusionist. He physically resembles Mukuro, and Reborn stated that he was a backstabber, much as Mukuro has frequently noted that he is merely biding his time for the opportunity to possess Tsuna. He was said to be able to curse enemies by glaring at them through an evil lens which resembles the Mist Owl's Cambio Forma, though "cursing" is likely a metaphorical reference to what happened to anyone he disliked.
- Cloud: Headed a secret intelligence agency in an unidentified country. He physically resembles Hibari, and despite their preference for solitude Dino notes that they both show benevolence towards allies, even though Hibari's manner of doing so is outwardly unfriendly and even violent. His weapon of choice was known as Alaude's Handcuffs, implying Alaude is his name; Hibari's Cloud Hedgehog can Cambio Forma into a similar weapon.
Ieyasu's descendants are named after Tokugawa Shoguns, as is he (Ieyasu, Yoshimune, Yoshinobu, Ietsuna, Iemitsu, and Tsunayoshi).

Character Summary The second head of the Vongola Family. He first appeared in chapter 158 where the previous Vongola heads gathered. His Dying Will Flame became known as the "Flame of Wrath", which Xanxus, who coincidentally looks similar in appearance, inherits. According to Xanxus, it was because of this power that the first Vongola boss moved to Japan, out of fear of facing the new boss's anger himself. It is said during his reign he was the fear of the underworld.

Character Summary It was said that Fabio would have the weakest flame of all Vongola Bosses. Because his flame was so weak, he created the first Dying Will gun. With this gun he could store his flame in it and release it as a more powerful and condensed energy. He used Dying Will Bullets as ammo and used them to store his flame within them. This weapon and technique is imitated by Xanxus in the Ring Conflict against Tsuna as it is believed to be of extreme power. He first appears in chapter 158 along with the other previous heads of the Vongola. In a small family tree, he is shown to be the father of Daniela a.k.a. Vongola VIII.

Character Summary The current head of the Vongola crime family at the beginning of the series. His age is unknown, but it is implied that he is becoming too weak to lead the family, which is why he searches for his successor. It is revealed that he has been plagued with problems concerning his legs, thereby limiting his mobility. He accepted Iemitsu's son, Tsuna, as the next head of the Vongola Family, but a fake IX that replaced him decided that Xanxus was more worthy to become the next boss. Not realizing this IX was a fake, Iemitsu argued, wanting Tsuna to become the 10th boss. Thus, the fake IX sanctioned the traditional Vongola battle; those who wield the same ring will have a one-on-one battle. The real IX was kidnapped by Xanxus, who had placed him within Gola Mosca, draining him of his life energy. When Tsuna sliced Gola Mosca's armor in half, the IX was able to use his flame to show Tsuna his past; the IX used to visit Tsuna when he was just a child. In the future, he has been unaccounted for since the Millefiore Family raided the main Vongola headquarters. During Tsuna's training within Hibari's spiked ball, he appears in a vision with the other Vongola heads and is shown with a flaming sceptre, his signature Dying Will Flame weapon. Seeing him in the vision causes Tsuna to believe that he may be dead. Like Tsuna and the first, the IX also knows how to use the Zero Point Breakthrough, using it to stop Xanxus' rebellion during the Cradle incident. The Vongola IX's stamp is the Dying Will Flame; he marks documents with his flame, proving they are official.

- In a recent character popularity poll, Vongola Ottavo a.k.a. Daniela, reached the best position among the Vongola bosses, besides Tsuna, appearing at the 6th position.
- Tsuna appears to be resisting the mafia world less and less lately. He doesn't question Reborn as often or even said "I'm not gonna' be a mafia boss". In the Future Arc, he is said to be "living comfortably as the Vongola's new Head".
- Tsuna's family as analyzed by Reborn has many similarities with the 1st Boss' family.
- Tsuna is the youngest Vongola boss.
- Tsuna "meets" the first Vongola boss, as well as the second through ninth, while inside Hibari's Cloud Hedgehog (as a result of a vision beamed directly into his mind by the Vongola Sky Ring).
- Fabio has the weakest flame but over came that disadvantage by packing his flames into bullets and shooting them through his gun.
