U.M.A. (ＵＭＡ(ユーマ), Yūma?) or (未確認動物, Mikakunin dōbutsu?), short for Unidentified Mysterious Animal, refers to various creatures mentioned by Hayato Gokudera whenever he experiences something unexplainable by science.

U.M.A. are neither classified as animals nor humans, but they resemble humans physically. They are intelligent creatures that aren't supposed to harm people, per Gokudera's explanation. Gokudera hopes to someday meet one of them.
