Takeshi Yamamoto vs. Ken Joshima is a battle fought between Takeshi Yamamoto and Ken Joshima which took place in Kokuyo Land.

Prelude[]

Tsunayoshi Sawada, Yamamoto, Hayato Gokudera, Reborn, and Bianchi infiltrate Kokuyo Land in order to defeat the escaped convicts, by order of the Vongola Nono.

Upon arrival, Tsuna remembered being brought there when he was younger and was volunteered by Reborn to lead the way. Tsuna remembered being close to an exhibit of Flora and Fauna but couldn't see it. At that moment, they were attacked by a pack of dogs, however they were revealed to be already dead. Suddenly, a feral figure pounced at Yamamoto, knocking him to the ground. The ground caved in, sending Yamamoto to the cage below. The figure then jumped into the hole after him. Reborn deduced that the Flora and Fauna exhibit had been buried under the dirt bellow them and that they would be unable to help Yamamoto without the exhibit collapsing around him.

Summary[]

Yamamoto falls to the hole and is confronted by one of the escaped convicts, Ken Joshima. Ken charges at Yamamoto but Yamamoto dodges and Ken puts something in his mouth. He ricochets from wall to wall and attempts to bite Yamamoto who defends himself with his sword, which breaks due to the strength of Ken's attack.

Ken reveals that he is able to change his abilities to those of many animals by putting their fangs into his mouth. As a demonstration, he activates his Kong Channel and uses his increased strength to throw Yamamoto. Yamamoto recovers and checks if he's injured. Ken uses his Wolf Channel to sniff out the blood of the dog that he sprayed at Yamamoto and attacks but Yamamoto is able to dodge.

Ken Bites Yama

Ken bites Yamamoto's arm.

As Ken attacks, Yamamoto continues to defend his body, causing Reborn to comment that Yamamoto is being especially careful to avoid injury due to his love of baseball. Tsuna blames himself for bringing Yamamoto along and Reborn suddenly kicks him into the hole. Ken instantly switches targets but is stopped by Yamamoto who threw a rock at the back of his head. Ken swaps to Cheetah channel and charges at Yamamoto, dodging his second rock and biting his arm. However, Yamamoto used this opportunity to strike Ken in the head using his sword handle leaving Ken seemingly defeated.

Aftermath[]

Tsuna immediately begins to apologize to Yamamoto for his arm but Yamamoto tells him that an arm is a fine sacrifice to protect a friend. After Bianchi tends to Yamamoto's injuries, Ken Joshima reveals that he had been playing possum in case they tried to interrogate him but claims that it wouldn't matter as Mukuro would defeat them all. Bianchi silences him by dropping a boulder on his head, scaring Tsuna and Gokudera.

Anime & manga differences[]

  • The zombie dogs were not shown in the anime. The scene where Ken taunts the group and Bianchi drops a boulder was also not shown.
  • Tsuna's flashback about Yamamoto's broken arm was replaced by Yamamoto's baseball training.
