Takeshi Yamamoto, commonly referred to as Yamamoto, is one of the main characters in Katekyo Hitman Reborn!. He is generally warm and friendly, and is rarely seen without a smile on his face. He is rather naive to the point of believing that the Mafia is nothing more than a game and that his life isn't in any real danger.

  +
He was chosen to be the Tenth Generation Rain Guardian of the Vongola Famiglia.

  +
Takeshi is portrayed as a stereotypical Japanese teenager; his appearance is quite ordinary, he's a big fan of baseball, his father owns a sushi resturant, and he wields a katana.
Character outline
Character Outline
Yamamoto was born in Japan and is 177cm tall, weighing 63kg. He is a Taurus with O bloodtype. His future dream is to become a professional baseball player and he goes to Namimori's batting field everyday. His favourite food is sushi and his favourite drink is milk. His favourite instrument is the taiko, a Japanese drum.

  +
Appearance
  +
Takeshi is a fairly-tall teenager with short, spiky black hair and large brown eyes. He bears a strong resemblance to his father. In the future, he has a scar on his chin.

  +
His most prominent outfit is his Namimori Junior High uniform. He wears a black sweater, with a white formal shirt underneath, and gray pants. Unlike most of his other allies, Takeshi hardly ever wears a tie with his uniform.
Addressed as 'Yamamoto' by almost everyone in the series, this baseballer-turned-mafia has a warm and friendly personality and is rarely seen not smiling. He is, however, very naive to the point of believing that Reborn's weapons are advanced kid's toys and that the mafia business is one big cops-and-robbers game. Yamamoto is regarded by various Reborn characters, especially Tsuna, as being reliable and almost never fails to deliver. A prominent example is how he won the turnaround match for Tsuna's family in the Varia arc against Superbi Squalo in a sword fight no-one thought he could win.

  +
Personality
Yamamoto is the type of character that can make friends with everyone, and if not friendship, at least respect. Characters like Hibari Kyouya has been shown to have interest in Yamamoto's battles and Squalo has also shown interest in his development. However, Yamamoto can become angry when his friends are hurt or injured. He is also willing to sacrifice things important to him to save his friends, shown in the Kokuyo arc.
+
Takeshi is the type of character that can make friends with everyone, and if not friendship, then at least respect. Characters like Hibari, have been shown to have interest in Takeshi's battles, and Squalo has also shown to have interest in his development to the point of willingly tutoring him. However, Takeshi can become angry when his friends are hurt or injured. He is also willing to sacrifice things important to him to save his friends from danger, as shown in the Kokuyo Arc. where he sacrificed an arm (right before an important baseball game) to defeat Ken Joshima; and when Superbia Squalo asked him whether he would choose baseball or the sword, he chose the sword in order to protect those he cared about.

Despite his easygoing personality, Yamamoto has shown that he has hidden talent as an assassin. In fact, Reborn clearly sees Yamamoto's potential and often mentions to Tsuna that Yamamoto is a natural born killer. His fast reflexes and strong body from sport gives him a natural advantage and he is shown to be able to dodge cannon fire and wayward fireworks. Yamamoto also learns really quick, remembering all 8 forms of the Shigure Souen Style despite only being shown once. He also manages to develop a new form of the style in a life-death situation. In the future arc, Yamamoto also manages to light the flame on his ring on his first try. Of all of Tsuna's family Reborn seems to have a special interest in Yamamoto, helping him train initially, giving him the baseball bat that can turn into a katana, making special notes on his progress and eventually becoming his 'home tutor' in the Future arc.

  +
In school his grades are around the same as Tsuna's because of his focus on baseball. However, it is shown that once he sits down and actually learns the theory, he can do any problem easily. Despite not being smart academically wise, he has shown an inner wisdom and tact belying his age. This was shown when he scolded Gokudera on being a proper right-hand man. He has the tendency to believe that everything is a game, including the Vongola which he believes to be some sort of 'mafia role-playing game'. His future self, however, seems to have finally acknowledged the reality of the situation.
Yamamoto's portrayal in the story is that of a stereotypical Japanese teenager; his name 'Takeshi', and surname 'Yamamoto' are both common Japanese names, his looks are quite ordinary for a Japanese teenager, he is a big fan of baseball (a popular sport in Japan), his family owns a sushi store and later in the story, he uses a katana (a Japanese sword).

  +
Future Takeshi still shows a bit of his easy-going self but has become more mature and serious. In terms of personality, Takeshi resembles the First Vongola Rain Guardian Ugetsu Asari, something the latter acknowledges.
In the future arc, he is shown to have learned everything about the mafia and seems to be okay with it.

History
  +
Takeshi is a very skilled fighter. Despite his easy-going personality, Takeshi has shown that he has hidden talent as a hitman. In fact, Reborn clearly sees Takeshi's potential and often mentions to Tsuna that Takeshi is a natural born hitman, mentioning as well that he is the best athlete in the entire Vongola Famiglia. His fast reflexes and athletically conditioned-body give him a natural advantage and he is shown to be able to dodge cannon fire and wayward fireworks. Takeshi is also a quick learner, remembering all 8 forms of the Shigure Soen Ryu despite only being shown once. He also manages to develop a new form of the style, the 9th form, in a life-or-death situation.

  +
Equipment
Takeshi is a star athlete at his school and believes that is almost everything that defines him. After being convinced otherwise by Tsuna, they become friends.

* Yamamoto's Bat: It was given to him by Reborn shortly before the Kokuyo Arc. Before receiving the Shigure Kintoki or learning the Shigure Soen Ryu, Takeshi used a bat that, when swung at 300 km per hour, transforms into a katana.
  +
* Shigure Kintoki: A Katana inherited by his father, before his battle for the Rain ring. It is a shinai that transforms into a Katana when the Shigure Soen Style is used.
  +
* Vongola Rain Ring: Won during the Rain Ring Battle. As part of the Tri-Ni-Set it is classed as S-rank. In the Future, the Vongola Rings were destroyed by Tsuna. However they were later brought back from the Past with the Ten Year Bazooka. Takeshi is capable of bringing out Rain Dying Will Flames from his Ring and use its Tranquility Ability to diffuse other Dying Will Flames. He can also use the heat from the Ring to detect incoming attacks. The Vongola Guardians were later accepted by the First Vongola Boss as the rightful owners of the Vongola Rings and were granted their true Forms.

Vongola]], and the other Kojirou the Rondine di Pioggia ver. Vongola. Jirou helps Takeshi wield the three Rain Blades that use Rain Flames to propel Takeshi in different directions. Kojirou has the power to make Rain infused with the Tranquility Attribute and shower it down on opponents.

Introduction Arc
  +
* Cambio Forma: Ugetsu Asari's Four Irregular Swords: Kojirou fuses with Takeshi's Shigure Kintoki to create the ornately decorated long sword with the roman numeral "I", and Jirou provides three short swords. It is said the First Rain Guardian used this sword style. In its Version X form Takeshi gain's only two swords, along with Armor around his wrists.
  +
* Water: A Box Weapon used by Future Takeshi Yamamoto used for defensive water wall able to withstand Flames and protect from incoming attacks.
  +
* Motorcycle: Used to travel great distances during Choice, using a Dying Will Flame powered engine, completely covered by material used to make Mammon Chains and Mammon Covers to keep the bikes from being detected.
  +
* Necklace of the Rain Version X: The upgrade version of the Vongola Rain Ring took form of a Necklace with a Sword and Cane di Pioggia ver. Vongola.

  +
Techniques
Takeshi is the star of the school's baseball team, making it into the regulars even though he is only a first year student. He is generally known as the nice and popular guy. He has a lot of love for the sport, but has been experiencing a bad slump. One day he gets his hopes up after some small talk with Tsuna, but breaks his arm during training. He thinks his career in baseball, the only thing he's good at, would go downhill from there, and plans to end his life by jumping off the school roof. Tsuna saves his life.

  +
* Shigure Soen Ryu: Takeshi inherited this deadly Sword Style from his father who taught him eight Forms, four Defensive and four Offensive. Takeshi has since developed three new Forms and, thanks to his training with Squalo, has also developed Aggregate Art, a move that combines all the Shigure Souen Forms together.
This is however left out of the anime in which Yamamoto became friends with Tsuna during a volleyball game.

  +
* Attacco di Squalo: A shockwave attack which turns a powerful blow into an oscillating wave that stuns the opponent's muscles. He improved Attaco di Squalo by adding Rain Flames in his Shigure Kintoki
After he is 'rescued,' he becomes one of Tsuna's good friends and joins Tsuna on his adventures during this arc.

  +
* Rain Flame Radar: An ability to see through invisible attacks by using his Ring's Flames as a radar to detect vibrations in the air, Takeshi learns what the radar reads through his Box Weapon, Kojirou.

When he realizes Hayato's condition, his angry side comes out and he effortlessly slices one of his enemy's yo-yos. Chikusa wiely decides that the battle isn't worth continuing with and retreats.

Trivia
  +
* Takeshi's favorite food is sushi, and his favorite drink is milk. Both his favourite food and favourite drink are exactly the same as Belphegor's.
Spurred on by Reborn's words, Takeshi joins the group consisting of him, Hayato, Bianchi, Reborn, and Tsuna. When they reach Kokuyo Health Land, Takeshi notices dog tracks which Bianchi further deduces have blood in them. The group is set upon by a pack of wild dogs, which he quickly realizes are actually dead. The group flees, but Ken Joshima gets the jump on Takeshi, who falls through the ground, which Reborn finds is actually the top of the Botanical Garden. Ken joins him, and he finds himself stuck in actual combat. Making him the second person ever behind Hayato. As the battle progresses, Ken easily breaks Yamamoto's Bat, angering Takeshi. After Tsuna is kicked down into the fight-pit by Reborn, Takeshi finishes the match by baiting Ken into attacking him and stiking his temple with the butt of his sword's hilt.

  +
* Takeshi's favorite sushi dish is toro, hamachi and shrimp.
  +
* Takeshi's favorite musical instrument is the taiko (a Japanese drum).
  +
* Takeshi's favorite baseball position is batting; but he wishes to be a well-rounded player.

* In the future, Takeshi was aiming to enter the major league before he returned full-time to the Vongola. Squalo sent him the videos of his battles in order to draw him back to the path of the sword.
  +
* Takeshi is the only character to have one Box Weapon that is made up of two different animals.
  +
* In the most recent poll, Takeshi ranked 7th in popularity and 10th in strength.
  +
* In Haru's Haru Haru Interview: Dangerous, it is revealed that while Takeshi's dad runs a sushi bar, Takeshi himself is yelled at whenever he touches anything in the restaurant.
  +
* In Ciao Ciao interview, it is stated that the person he thinks invincible is his father, and he said that he probably can never beat him.
  +
* His family owns a dojo named "Asarigumi" (Asari Clan) which used to be where Takeshi's father trained his Shigure Soen style when he was young, which is coincidentally similar to Asari's family name. Currently, the dojo is usually used by Takeshi whenever he trains his swordsmanship.
  +
* As seen in Haru Haru's Interview Dangerous, Takeshi loves milk and even once told Gokudera to drink some because he thinks Gokudera's constant frustration was due to lack of calcium (oblivious that his easy-going attitude was actually the cause of it).
  +
* In volume 42's Everyone's One Day Activities, it's revealed that one of Takeshi's dreams is to play baseball with Tsuna and the other Guardians, though this ends up being hectic because Hibari and Mukuro started fighting for real, followed by Gokudera and Lambo. However, Takeshi still thinks that everyone is having a fun game together, although it's no longer a baseball game.
  +
* According to Futa's ranking databook in volume 36, Takeshi ranked 3rd as "the most wanted mafia member."

Takeshi, after attempting to follow Tsuna into the forest, as does Hayato, is stopping by a steel beam flying through his path. He, Bianchi, and Gokudera brace for the next killer, which turns out to be the Fake Mukuro. As Hayato is struck down with the side effects of his Trident mosquito bite, Takeshi volunteers to take 'Mukuro' on first. Fake Mukuro launches an aerial assault with his steel ball, which sucked Takeshi in to the full brunt of the attack. But he used his bat to shield himself. Afterwards, when the Fake Mukuro throws his Steel Ball again, Takeshi throws sand into its path to figure its secret out, making himself fall over in order to avoid the move. However, his plan to stay out of range and wait for an opening fails when the Fake Mukuro puts a spin on his ball, the resulting slipstream drags Takeshi-unprotected-into the attack, knocking him out for the rest of the Arc.

Takeshi is trained by his father in kendo. During his battle, Takeshi fought Superbi Squalo for the right to bear the Ring of Rain. After an extensive, bloody sword fight, Takeshi won out in the end by using his newly created ninth form of the Shigure Souen Style, Mirroring Rain, and became the official successor of the legendary deadly sword style. He was called a natural born assassin. During Tsuna's fight with Xanxus, he remained immobilized at the flooded field he had battled Squalo at, until being cured of the Death-Hitter poison by Hibari. Meeting up with Gokudera, the two then proceeded to the gymnasium to rescue Chrome. The second they entered the field however, they had been trapped into Marmon's illusion, after Belphegor rescued him. They were required to surrender the rings, in exchange for Chrome's life. Had they not complied, they threatened to skin Chrome alive. Yamamoto devised a cunning plan and used the Shigure Souen Style to turn the tables on the two. However they were ultimately saved by Ryohei.

pl:Yamamoto Takeshi
Nine years and ten months into the future, Takeshi is no longer the oblivious person he used to be. He is now an official subordinate of the Vongola Family, and has also advanced his sword skills, to the point that he can somehow summon rain when he uses one of the special boxes, even when lacking a ring. He wears typical mafia clothing (a black suit), and also has a scar on his chin. In the future as he tells Tsuna about the war, we learn that his father was killed. His future self was replaced by the younger Takeshi after someone fired the Ten-Year Bazooka at him in the past.

The Family faced a huge problem when, just as Hibird showed up, giving them a chance at finding the strongest guardian, Kyoko went out to look for Ryohei. Tsuna decided that he and Lal were to look for Kyoko, and Takeshi was to help Hayato follow up on the Hibird lead. After tracking it all the way to where the signal went dead, right outside on Namimori Shrine, the two engage another Blackspell duo. Hayato makes it clear that they are both fighting separately, and they succeed in getting a victory. However, this is when Gamma of the Fake 6 Funeral Wreaths showed up.

  +

He fought a losing battle against Gamma with Hayato when they were searching for the future Hibari. Takeshi revealed he had a lot of insight despite thinking the mafia is a game, and when Hayato told Takeshi to stay out of the fight he angrily told Hayato that if he was truly Tsuna's right hand man, he would unite the Guardians instead of separating them. Both of them worked together but were defeated badly in the end. They were saved by Hibari, and Takeshi began a new intensive training with Reborn as his home tutor.

Back to Training
Yamamoto and Reborn train in a traditional Japanese styled room. They have bullet dodging exercises with Reborn shooting paintballs that contain glow-in-the-dark paint and Yamamoto blocking with his sword. Yamamoto also has to run ridiculously long marathons with his swallow to train endurance. Recently, the two have also been shown in all out battles. Reborn has promised that he will reveal his secrets as an Acrobaleno if Yamamoto's training is fruitful.

Yamamoto's training had reached a point where Reborn cannot help him anymore as he is a gunman, not a swordsman. Therefore he shows Yamamoto a video that Squalo as given him roughly titled 'The Road to becoming the Swords Emperor'. It has recorded the 101 battles Squalo won for him to be declared the new Swords Emperor. This video gives Yamamoto new motivation and after three days, he is able to use his newly created Shigure Soen Style form to pierce Reborn's hat. Reborn declares his training complete. Following his training, Reborn tells Yamamoto about the secret of the Arcobaleno, but asks him not to tell anyone else until after their attack on the Melone Base of the Millefiore.

Melone Base
After setting out and reaching Melone Base along with Tsuna, Hayato, Lal, and Ryohei, Takeshi watches as Tsuna defeats Dendro Chilum with his newly perfected X-Burner. After Tsuna wins handily, he proceeds with the group to watch Lal face off against Ginger Bread. After defeating the magician's puppet, Takeshi carries her toward their main goal as Tsuna heads off to take her place as a decoy.

After a while, an "earthquake" separates the group into Takeshi and Lal, and Gokudera and Ryohei. Not realzing that the base has been rearranged by Irie, Takeshi continues to follow his digital map. When he runs into a dead end, the base moves again, and, Takeshi, sensing Genkishi's murderous intent, sets Lal down and braces for a brawl.

After getting Genkishi todraw his blade, when he previously stated he wouldn't even need it, Takeshi charges his with his bet attack: the Scontro Di Rodine or Clash of the Swallow. Unfortunately, Genkishi manufactures "real illusions" of large black, floating walls that Takeshi crashes into. He passes out at this point.

Back to Training II
As of chapter 236, Yamamoto, like Tsuna, is training alone. Although he has no idea that Squalo is heading towards the base, angry that he lost to Genkishi during the Melone Base Invasion.

Relationships
Takeshi is a very warm and accepting person, and as such, he makes friends very easily and is respected by nearly everyone. He likes almost everybody in the series.

Tsuna
Being the person that saved him from suicide, Yamamoto thinks Tsuna is amazing, and treats him as a very close friend. Although he is rather naive towards what is really happening during the series, Takeshi is very devoted and loyal to Tsuna and puts fighting for him and protecting him above everything else.

Gokudera
Takeshi and Gokudera are friends, but have somewhat of a one-sided rivalry going. Gokudera believes Takeshi is trying to become Tsuna's right hand man, when in reality, he is simply being his clueless self and enjoys their competitions. They therefore push each other to do their best and become stronger because of each other.

In the future, the present Takeshi scolds Gokudera for his coldness towards him. He says that he has no right to be Tsuna's right hand man right now, as the right hand man's job is to gather and unite the guardians- not turn away from them. He goes back to being happy once Gokudera chooses to accept him.

Reborn
The person who 'found' Yamamoto and consequently made him join Vongola. He has very high expectations of Yamamoto's talents and eventually becomes his tutor in the Future Arc. Reborn says that Yamamoto is a natural born killer. Yamamoto, on the otherhand, thinks that Reborn is an infant who likes to play with very advanced toys (guns, bombs). Recently after starting to train with Reborn he has acknowleged him to be powerful and is interested in hearing Reborn's secrets which he promised to reveal after their training. Reborn seems to like sitting on Yamamoto's shoulder.

Squalo
Squalo is the first opponent Yamamoto faced who uses a sword. After a humiliating defeat at Squalo's hands Yamamoto has trained extremely hard learning the Shigure Souen Style in hopes of beating Squalo. Squalo can be seen as the oil that strengthened Yamamoto's desire to become stronger and his rival at swordsmanship. After defeating Squalo in the Rain battle Squalo says that Yamamoto has what it takes to become a great swordsman, acknowledging him. He, like Reborn, also has high hopes for Yamamoto. In the Future Arc, Squalo sends Reborn and Yamamoto a video of the 100 battles he won in order to become the Sword Emperor, helping Yamamoto and refiring his determination. In the Future Arc, it is also mentioned that Vongola has two swords masters; one of which is Yamamoto, the other Squalo.

Abilities
Takeshi uses a bat that Reborn gives him. The bat turns into a katana when swung faster than 300km/h, though he initially did not have much skill in using it. The bat also contains a telescope. Reborn also gives him Micro Hammers. These weapons are spiked baseballs that explode on contact.

In the future, Takeshi shows a great level of mastery with the sword and the power of the Vongola rings. Even though the main rings were destroyed, he was still able to use the special boxes and their unique powers. When his past self arrives he starts using a box that releases a swallow covered in dying will flame. The swallow is capable of making heavy rain and attacking opponents.

Shigure Soen Style
After coming up short in his first fight against Squalo, and then being told that he would just get in the way by Reborn, he asked his father for kendo lessons. What he did not know was that his father is an incredibly skilled swordsman who uses his sword to kill. His father specializes in the Shigure Soen Style. After completing his kendo training, his father gave him a shinai that could transform into a katana only when wielded by the Shigure Soen Style. It has a special name, the Shigure Kintoki.

The Shigure Soen Style is a notoriously deadly sword style that is only passed down to worthy successors. Each 'form' of the style is only shown once to the student - if the student is worthy to succeed, he only needs to see it once to remember how to use it from then on. It originally only had one form that was passed down through generations of successors with each successor creating and adding their own forms resulting in many branches of Shigure Souen Style. However, as new forms were created the weaker branches deteriorate and others disappear as there is no worthy successor. Hence this style can be called as the perfect, flawless style.

The Shigure Soen Style taught to Yamamoto consist of 8 forms; four defensive, four offensive. Coincidentally, the Shigure Soen Style's eight forms all have rain in their names, further establishing Yamamoto's right as the holder of the Ring of Rain.

Yamamoto has further created two new forms, form 9 and 10, both offensive.

Forms
-1 Axle of Rain 車軸の雨 (Shajiku no Ame) - Offensive. Yamamoto charges forward and attacks with a thrust.

-2 Surging Rain 遣らずの雨 (Sakamaku Ame) - Defensive. Yamamoto lifts waves of water around him then ducks, putting his sword protectively in front.

-3 Last Minute Rain 遣らずの雨 (Yarazu no Ame) - Offensive. Used by Yamamoto to save Chrome in the Sky fight. Yamamoto drops the katana kicking it with his foot to send it flying in a stab.

-4 Unknown, deducted to be defensive.

-5 Early Summer Rain 五月雨 (Samidare) - Offensive. Shown in the fight against Squalo. Yamamoto slashes diagonally but in midway he drops the sword, switching hands, before finishing the attack. Able to put off the timing in his opponent.

-6 Unknown, deducted to be defensive.

-7 Spraying Rain 繁吹き雨 (Shibuki Ame) - Defensive. Used in the Rain fight. Yamamoto holds the sword backwards and spins to create a whirlwind like shield.

-8 Pouring Rain 篠突く雨 (Shinotsuku Ame) - Offensive. Created by Yamamoto's father when saving a friend. Uses the blade of the sword to cut around the bearer.

-9 Mirroring Rain うつし雨 (Utsushi Ame) - Offensive. Created by Yamamoto during his fight with Squalo and the move that defeated him. Yamamoto makes a tidal wave with his sword then defends and when his opponent attacks his reflection from behind he attacks from the front.

-10 Scontro di Rodine (Clash of the Swallow) - Offensive. Created by Yamamoto in the Future Arc while training with Reborn. Seems to be a tidal wave of water that surrounds him while he charges, led by the swallow from his box

-11 Beccata di Rodine (Swallow's Beak) - Offensive. Yamamoto thrusts his blade multiple times with one hand.

*Reborn reveals that in the current timeline(the future)Takeshi was aiming to enter the major league before he returned fulltime to Tsuna and the Vongola. Squalo sent him the videos one at a time in order to both boast and draw him back to the path of the sword.

*Takeshi has only won two of his five battles. He beat Ken and Squalo, but lost to Lanchia, Gamma, and Genkishi. Meaning he's lost more than half of his fights. Though it is worth noting that in the fights he's lost, Takeshi puts in a valiant effort.

Appearances

Takeshi Yamamoto, commonly referred to as Yamamoto, is one of the main characters in Katekyo Hitman Reborn!. He is generally warm and friendly, and is rarely seen without a smile on his face. He is rather naive to the point of believing that the Mafia is nothing more than a game and that his life isn't in any real danger.

He was chosen to be the Tenth Generation Rain Guardian of the Vongola Famiglia.

Takeshi is portrayed as a stereotypical Japanese teenager; his appearance is quite ordinary, he's a big fan of baseball, his father owns a sushi resturant, and he wields a katana.

Character Outline

Appearance

Takeshi is a fairly-tall teenager with short, spiky black hair and large brown eyes. He bears a strong resemblance to his father. In the future, he has a scar on his chin.

His most prominent outfit is his Namimori Junior High uniform. He wears a black sweater, with a white formal shirt underneath, and gray pants. Unlike most of his other allies, Takeshi hardly ever wears a tie with his uniform.

Personality

Future Takeshi still shows a bit of his easy-going self but has become more mature and serious. In terms of personality, Takeshi resembles the First Vongola Rain Guardian Ugetsu Asari, something the latter acknowledges.

Weapons and Abilities

Yamamoto's Cambio Forma Version VVG

Cambio Forma ver. X

 • Cambio Forma: Ugetsu Asari's Four Irregular Swords: Kojirou fuses with Takeshi's Shigure Kintoki to create the ornately decorated long sword with the roman numeral "I", and Jirou provides three short swords. It is said the First Rain Guardian used this sword style. In its Version X form Takeshi gain's only two swords, along with Armor around his wrists.
 • Water: A Box Weapon used by Future Takeshi Yamamoto used for defensive water wall able to withstand Flames and protect from incoming attacks.
 • Motorcycle: Used to travel great distances during Choice, using a Dying Will Flame powered engine, completely covered by material used to make Mammon Chains and Mammon Covers to keep the bikes from being detected.
 • Necklace of the Rain Version X: The upgrade version of the Vongola Rain Ring took form of a Necklace with a Sword and Cane di Pioggia ver. Vongola.

Techniques

 • Shigure Soen Ryu: Takeshi inherited this deadly Sword Style from his father who taught him eight Forms, four Defensive and four Offensive. Takeshi has since developed three new Forms and, thanks to his training with Squalo, has also developed Aggregate Art, a move that combines all the Shigure Souen Forms together.
 • Attacco di Squalo: A shockwave attack which turns a powerful blow into an oscillating wave that stuns the opponent's muscles. He improved Attaco di Squalo by adding Rain Flames in his Shigure Kintoki
 • Rain Flame Radar: An ability to see through invisible attacks by using his Ring's Flames as a radar to detect vibrations in the air, Takeshi learns what the radar reads through his Box Weapon, Kojirou.

Trivia

 • Takeshi's favorite food is sushi, and his favorite drink is milk. Both his favourite food and favourite drink are exactly the same as Belphegor's.
 • Takeshi's favorite sushi dish is toro, hamachi and shrimp.
 • Takeshi's favorite musical instrument is the taiko (a Japanese drum).
 • Takeshi's favorite baseball position is batting; but he wishes to be a well-rounded player.
 • In the future, Takeshi was aiming to enter the major league before he returned full-time to the Vongola. Squalo sent him the videos of his battles in order to draw him back to the path of the sword.
 • Takeshi is the only character to have one Box Weapon that is made up of two different animals.
 • In the most recent poll, Takeshi ranked 7th in popularity and 10th in strength.
 • In Haru's Haru Haru Interview: Dangerous, it is revealed that while Takeshi's dad runs a sushi bar, Takeshi himself is yelled at whenever he touches anything in the restaurant.
 • In Ciao Ciao interview, it is stated that the person he thinks invincible is his father, and he said that he probably can never beat him.
 • His family owns a dojo named "Asarigumi" (Asari Clan) which used to be where Takeshi's father trained his Shigure Soen style when he was young, which is coincidentally similar to Asari's family name. Currently, the dojo is usually used by Takeshi whenever he trains his swordsmanship.
 • As seen in Haru Haru's Interview Dangerous, Takeshi loves milk and even once told Gokudera to drink some because he thinks Gokudera's constant frustration was due to lack of calcium (oblivious that his easy-going attitude was actually the cause of it).
 • In volume 42's Everyone's One Day Activities, it's revealed that one of Takeshi's dreams is to play baseball with Tsuna and the other Guardians, though this ends up being hectic because Hibari and Mukuro started fighting for real, followed by Gokudera and Lambo. However, Takeshi still thinks that everyone is having a fun game together, although it's no longer a baseball game.
 • According to Futa's ranking databook in volume 36, Takeshi ranked 3rd as "the most wanted mafia member."
