While consistently changing outfits in the series, her most promonient outfit is her Midori Junior High uniform. She wears a white formal shirt, a cream sweatervest with a blue bowtie, a gray skirt, black knee-high socks and brown shoes.

Her future counterpart has shorter hair, wearing a dark blue short-sleeved blouse and a white shirt underneath, a gray bracelet on her left arm, and black pants. While in the future, Haru is described as being more feminine compared to in her youth.

Personality

Haru is an upbeat and enthusiastic girl, living a mostly carefree life in Namimori, as well as being known to be somwhat of an airhead. Haru is well aware of Tsuna's status in the mafia, although she doesn't know the complicated details and dreams to one day become the wife of a mafioso. Haru loves children and can become very protective towards them, especially towards Lambo and I-Pin, and dislikes the idea of children being involved in the mafia. She and Kyoko excel at cooking and housework very well.

While she is shown to be kind and caring, Haru is shown to be assertive in comparison to Kyoko, whenever Haru believes that Tsuna or Hayato are doing something wrong she usually doesn't hesitate to scold them for their actions, and on certain occasions can lead to physical harm.

Haru has a fascination with costumes, which often lead to her changing into different costumes, which often bewilder Tsuna. She is also shown to be able to make dolls with her talented sewing skills.

According to Tsuna and Hayato, Future Haru has become more feminine, but her way of thinking is still the same.

Plot Overview

Daily Life Arc

Tsuna Haru Episode 4

Haru attacking Tsuna, thinking that he corrupted the mind of Reborn with the mafia.

Even prior to meeting Tsuna and Reborn, Haru had already known a bit about Reborn, having watched him walk along her fence several times, where she gained an admiration towards him. Haru strongly disliked Tsuna, under the impression that he had corrupted the mind of Reborn, who previously stated that he was a hitman, her hatred towards Tsuna extended to Haru physically harming him.

Haru eventually befriends Bianchi, where she learns that Reborn truly is a hitman and Tsuna is the tenth boss of the Vongola. The next morning, Haru decides to test how strong Tsuna is with the use of samurai armor and hockey sticks. Due to the interference of Hayato, Haru fails to defeat Tsuna and is sent into river, and she's unable to swim due to the heaviness. She's rescued by Tsuna in Dying Will Mode, where her opinion on him changes and gains romantic feelings for him, much to his embarrassment. Haru mostly takes part in all of the crazy things that happen around Tsuna, or is a direct catalyst in them herself, such as when she attempted to help solve Problem 7, or when she thought Tsuna was abusing Lambo. In the manga, she, along with Kyoko, was shot with the Dying Will Bullet by Reborn when she ate one of I-Pin's Gyoza.

Kokuyo Arc

Haru makes only two appearances in this Arc, one of which she is not shown speaking. The first appearance she makes is when Tsuna is facing Birds, and Haru is shown on a projector screen wearing headphones and reading a book, unbeknownst to her that right behind her is one of the Bloody Twins awaiting Birds's order to kill her (the other Bloody Twin is behind Kyoko, in a different location). The second appearance she makes, she is shown in one of Tsuna's visions, after being shot by Leon's Rebuke Bullet, alongside I-Pin and Lambo, crying and claiming that Tsuna shouldn't have rushed Kokuyo Land, and insisting that she was going to be a Mafia Boss's wife someday, and she wouldn't cry over something like that.

Varia Arc

Haru's main role is looking after Lambo during this Arc. She and Kyoko do so alternatingly with Nana. Sometimes Fuuta or I-Pin would help. Bianchi also helped and she knew about the Matches going on at night. She was saved from confrontation with the Varia the night of the Sky Match by Bianchi.

Future Arc

Arrival & Search for the Strongest

Haru is thrust into the Future alongside Yamamoto, Kyoko, Lambo, and I-Pin during Adult Yamamoto's battle with Nosaru. She is knocked out by an attack from Nosaru but is saved by Yamamoto. She is escorted back to the Base by Hayato and Tsuna where she mainly helped to cook and clean along with Kyoko.

Arcobaleno Trials Arc

Note: This an an anime exclusive arc, which is not canon to the events of the manga.
Haru Blushes

Haru talking about guys

She was seen briefly during the Sky Arcobaleno Trials along with Kyoko. Both of the girls showed Aria around town with Tsuna's help. At the park, Haru, Kyoko, Aria, and Chrome, who joined the gang, started talking about boys and later, without Aria, went to get some juice.

Choice Arc

Haru, along with Kyoko, I-Pin, Bianchi, Chrome, Fuuta, Reborn, and Giannini want the boys to tell them about the Millefiore and Byakuran. When they refuse, the two (her and Kyoko) go on strike against them living together. But after Bianchi explains their mindset to them, the two decide to call the strike off.

Haru, whilst working in the kitchen, is approached by Tsuna, who sits her down and explains everything about what's going on with the mafia. She pretends that nothing is wrong, but after he leaves and Bianchi walks in, she breaks down and cries. Haru said that even though she knew the truth, she didn't know how serious the situation was, and therefore she felt that she was very selfish when she didn't know anything.

Haru is seen returning to the past alongside the rest of Tsuna's Family.

Future Final Battle Arc

After returning from the past with the rest of Tsuna's Family Haru is seen cooking and cleaning with Kyoko and Yuni. However they are interrupted when Zakuro, one of the real Six Funeral Wreaths, attacks the Vongola Base. Haru and the other non-combat personnel are escorted outside by Tsuna and his Guardians. Tsuna, who is at a loss for where to hide Yuni for the time being, decides to follow Haru to the Kawahira Realtors shop. Haru states that she knows the old woman who ran the shop and apparently even offered Haru sanctuary in case she ever decided to run away from home. She also seems to have knowledge of the shop's interior where the old woman, or Obaa-chan as Haru calls her, fed her snacks. She uses this knowledge to effectively hide everyone within the shop. It is unknown if Haru has any connection to the shop's current owner Mr. Kawahira in the past or the future.

Inheritance Ceremony Arc

Haru doesn't have much of a role in this arc compared to the previous ones. She only made a small cameo with Kyoko when Tsuna and the others were preparing to face off against the Shimon Family. She and Kyoko were at a cake shop and when Tsuna ran off, she asked Kyoko what was wrong; not knowing that Tsuna had left, silently saying goodbye to them.

Arcobaleno Curse Arc

Haru makes a brief appearance in the last arc, where she is shown standing outside Tsuna's house with Tsuna's Guardians and Kyoko. Prior to this, Tsuna had saved her from getting injured by some falling construction equipment, causing her to blush and call him her hero.

Relationships

Tsuna Sawada

904-1

Haru declaring her love towards Tsuna, much to his discomfort.

When Haru first met Tsuna, she considered him a threat who she greatly disliked, under the impression that he had corrupt the mind of Reborn with the mafia, her hatred towards Tsuna extended to the point of her physically harming him. After Tsuna rescues Haru from drowning while in Dying Will Mode, she develops an admiration towards him, and makes it her goal to become his wife sometime in the future. From this point on, Haru is generally more friendly towards Tsuna, only scolding him on occasions where she believes that he's mistreating Lambo or I-Pin

Their friendship gets somewhat strained while in the future, where Tsuna is accused of "not knowing anything" by Haru, after he yells at Lambo for bothering him and getting angry at Haru for not looking after him, Haru, in tears, states that she was willing to listen to Tsuna, but he never tried explaining anything to her. Tsuna later apologizes to Haru, after realizing how much she and Kyoko have helped them while in the future, and the two rekindle their friendship. Only a little while later, the two have another falling out, with Tsuna refusing to explain the mafia and Millefiore towards Haru and Kyoko, which makes Haru feel left out and concerned, Haru joined Kyoko in going on strike, refusing to cook and clean, until they are informed about the mafia.

Haru is Mad at Tsuna's Blush

Haru's anger towards Tsuna blushing at Yuni.

Haru is often prone to get angry whenever Tsuna interacts with other girls, this can be shown whenever Tsuna blushes at Yuni's smiling much to her anger, and gets angry at Chrome for kissing Tsuna's cheek as a form of greeting in the non-canon Haru Haru's Interview Dangerous.

While Tsuna views Haru as a good friend, his relationship with her is platonic, with Haru unaware of his feelings towards Kyoko.

Kyoko Sasagawa

Haru Kyoko

Haru with Kyoko.

Since the two first met, had become the closest of friends, as the two both shared a love for eating cake and created appreciation days for their love for eating cake, which they coincidentally have on the third sunday of every month. It's been stated that both Haru and Kyoko are in sync, to the point that they both share the same Dying Will regret, though they also have differences in personality, as Haru is shown to be more energetic and assertive.

Haru and Kyoko

Haru depicted having a sleep over with Kyoko during a Haru Haru's Interview Dangerous.

The two have been shown to bond with each other further in the series, as they become close enough to have sleep overs with each other, and attend many events together with Tsuna and his friends.

Together, they both support Tsuna and his friends on the sidelines, providing them encouragement and act as a driving force for both to continue fighting. While trapped in the future, Haru helps Kyoko in helping clean, cook, and look after the children, though they gradually begin to feel betrayed and left out whenever Tsuna refuses to explain the mafia or Millefiore, though recoil their friendship with Tsuna after he finally explains the mafia to both of them.

Lambo

Haru & Lambo Rainy Scene

Haru with Lambo.

Since the two first met, Haru had instantly took a liking towards Lambo, due to her love towards children. As opposed to others, Haru isn't bothered by many of Lambo's childish antics, and becomes very protective over him, especially whenever he is bullied by Hayato. Haru is shown to care for Lambo, as she is always seen taking care of Lambo in the absense of Nana and Tsuna.

Despite her adoration to Lambo, she greatly dislikes the ten year old counterpart of Lambo, who she considers perverted due to his revealing outfit, and often physically harms him because of it. Haru is unaware that fifteen year of Lambo is the same person as his five year old counterpart.

Bianchi

TYL Bianchi Comforts Haru

Haru hugging Bianchi.

When Bianchi and Haru first met, they shared a common interest together, both hating Tsuna and loving Reborn. It was because of Bianchi that Haru learned about Tsuna's  role in the mafia and the Reborn was a real hitman. Bianchi is like an older sister figure towards Haru, helping her with cooking and her admiration towards Tsuna. Haru's relationship with the future counterpart of Bianchi seems to remain the same, with future Bianchi comforting Haru on different occasions while trapped in the future.
