The members of the Giglio Nero Famiglia were the original wielders of the Mare Rings, led by Uni after the early death of her mother, Aria. 3 months after Uni took over the role as the family's boss, Genkishi was defeated by Squalo. There was a bargain between Genkishi and the enemy, the Gesso Famiglia, that if Genkishi could defeat Squalo that the Gesso will not attack the Giglio Nero for 5 years. Genkishi tried to win because Uni doesn't like fighting. To protect the family Uni meets up with Byakuran and the Gesso Famiglia for a meeting. The two families merged together to become the Millefiore. The Giglio Nero are the black spell of the Millefiore.
The only members of the Giglio Nero that have been shown in chapters and episodes looking into the past are Uni, Gamma, Nosaru, Tazaru and Genkishi.
