Genkishi is an A-rank Millefiore subordinate known as Byakuran's right-hand man and the strongest soldier before the appearance of the Six Funeral Wreaths. This strength, coupled with his powerful illusions, earned him the nickname The Phantom Knight, leading even other Millefiore Captains, such as Gamma, to fear him.
Character Outline
Genkishi has dark black hair styled in a curtain that covers his ears. He was the 100th opponent taken on by Squalo and faked a loss to him with his powerful illusions. Before he had sworn his loyalty to Byakuran, he was a part of the Giglio Nero Famiglia. Genkishi, or the "Phantom Knight," is known as the strongest Black Spell Member in the Millefiore Famiglia. He is probably named Genkishi because "Gen" means "Illusion" and "kishi" means "knight." Genkishi is an outstanding Illusionist. He carries 4 Swords, and he possesses the Fake Mare Mist Ring and the Ossa Impression Hell Ring.

He was fiercely loyal to Byakuran, referring to him as a God and, as such, blindly followed all his orders, even going as far as betraying his former family on Byakuran's order. The only time he showed hesitation was when Uni was around or when he was reminded of her. Though mostly calm while fighting, Genkishi lost all control whenever he used his Ossa Impressione Hell Ring and began ranting. Tsunayoshi Sawada even commented that his stoic self was more fearsome, despite having less power.
He is sent to Japan by Byakuran in order to protect Shoichi Irie, so during the Vongola Famiglia's raid on their base, he defeats Yamamoto and engages in battle against Future Hibari. It is revealed that despite being a former Giglio Nero member, he devoted himself to following Byakuran, and had even instigated the Giglio Nero/Gesso merger by faking his defeat at the hands of Squalo. However, when Byakuran had requested him to steal the Mare Rings and Sky Pacifier from the Giglio Nero, he was unable to do so due to Yuni. This leads him to go to great lengths to prove his loyalty to Byakuran, even being consumed by his Hell Ring, which changes him physically and mentally, in order to defeat Tsuna in battle. Though his transformation grants him greater power, he loses to Tsuna and escapes by using one of his Box Weapons. Genkishi has reappeared in the game of Choice battles between the Real Six Funeral Wreaths and Tsuna's Family.

During Choice, Basil of the Vongola Side pointed out that the Millefiore Famiglia's side was lacking one Mist member, as per the outcome of the Gyro Roulette. Byakuran has Torikabuto summon one of his numerous A-rank subordinates to join the battle, and Saru appears, filling out the quota.

When the battle begins, Saru uses a device on his wrist to see all the Flame outputs of the other team. In which he discovers that the Vongola are using decoys. Kikyo instructs he and Torikabuto to find any and every decoy and destroy them in order to reveal their true targets. Saru goes off in search of one.

* Ōgi: Shiken (lit. Secret Art: Four Swords): Known as the Millfiore's strongest swordsman, Genkishi can use four Swords at once, holding two in his hands and two with his feet.
Saru locates Yamamoto and initially draws him out by attacking a decoy with some type of Box Weapon, and when his opponent jumped out, he was caught in it. Saru then proceeded to reveal his true identity - Genkishi. Genkishi is still using the Illusion Sword and the armor that he fought Tsuna with. However he is showing signs of damage from his battle with Tsuna, it looks as though he has been stitched together recently. The two once again get into a duel with Genhishi seemingly having the upper hand and thinking an easy victory since he defeated Yamamoto before. However not only does Yamamoto manage to avoid taking damage from his attacks, he also unlocked the true form of his Box Weapon, ready for a rematch. Upon seeing his new Weapon and its capabilities, Genkishi decides to go full power (commenting that in his fight against Tsuna he couldn't use his full power cause the look in Tsuna's eyes reminded him of Yuni). Despite this Yamamoto manages to overcome his ultimate attack and lands the final strike. After his defeat to Yamamoto, Genkishi is killed by the Funeral Wreath Cloud Guardian Kikyo, and his Kikyo's Bellflowers. Kikyo tells Genkishi he has no longer wanted by Byakuran, but Genkishi believes it to be lies since Byakuran saved him from a severe unknown illness years previously. Genkishi dies from Kikyo's Bellflowers believing that Byakuran will save him, even at his very end.

* Illusion Sword: The Illusion Sword is used by Genkishi. It is Genkishi's most powerful sword and the strongest Mist-type Sword. The Sword is able to instantly construct multiple copies of itself and attack simultaneously. It is also able to create projectile Mist Flames that are able to slash their target.

* Genkishi participates in Choice under the name "Saru," which, in Japanese, translates to "monkey."
* Armatura: It is in the same league as the Illusion Sword, covering the user in armor similar to a Medieval Knight, and amplifies the user's Illusions. When combined with the power of the Hell Ring, the user takes the form of a skull-faced Knight with no limbs connecting the seemingly floating armor. According to Genkishi, the true power of the Ring is an Illusion of skeletons expelled from the skull Knight's mouth. These skeletons take the appearance of the enemy's loved ones and attack him, in an attempt to break down the user's mind or keep him from moving. Genkishi claims that the Illusions are tied to the lives of their real counterparts. However, the Illusions are susceptible to attacks like the Zero Point Breakthrough: First Edition, since they are made of Mist Flames.
