The cloud ring battle was between Kyoya Hibari and Gola Mosca. At this time each side has 3 rings, after many weeks of training with Dino, Hibari is still anxious to bite someone to death. Yamamoto, Ryohei and Gokudera greet Hibari at the school, they were going to cheer for him during the match. Hibari doesn't like crowds and warns them that he will bite them to death if they don't leave.
Battlefield
The battlefield of The Cloud Ring Battle is called the Cloud Ground. It is basically the school yard with barbed wires around the edge with Gatling guns on the outside which will automatically shoot at anything in a 30m radius. In addition to that, there are countless mines that will explode immediately after being stepped on.
Rules
- There is no time limit
- A person is only pronounced a winner if they have the other person's ring, even if the opponent is dead.
- Gaining assistance from the outside will result in your disqualification and the person who helped you, both rings would be lost
- It is not against the rule to kill someone

Episode 53
- Battle Begins
- Mosca uses its jet powered legs to charge at Hibari
- Mosca raises its hand and starts shooting from his fingers at Hibari which his dodged easily
- Hibari runs through the dust created by Moscas attack, Mosca flies at Hibari
- Hibari strikes Mosca with his tonfas, once in the head, then takes off its arm with another strike, gaining the Gola Mosca's ring.
- Mosca malfunctions and explodes
End Battle
After Hibari defeats Mosca, provoked Xanxus and soon both of them got into a fight, how ever, if the Varia were to raise a hand against Hibari then it would be seen as mutiny against the 10th boss (the Vongola Famiglia have now won with 1 ring more then the Varia). However, the Gola Mosca's restraining system had been broken and now the Gola Mosca was on a rampage. Attacking everything and anything, it was about to hit Chrome, Ken and Chikusa when Tsuna saved them. Tsuna then repeatedly attacked and evaded Gola Mosca until it was defeated. However, an unexpected twist occurred when the Vongola Famiglia's 9th boss dropped out. Xanxus then accused Tsuna of murdering the 9th boss and that he will avenge the 9th boss in the name of his son. It was then, that Reborn understood Xanxus's plan. He was going to take over the Vongola Famiglia and make a dictatorship. It was then that Xanxus stated that he could eliminate all of them right there but he would give them a chance. That chance would be the Sky Ring Battle.
Results
As the Gola Mosca was defeated and Hibari was able to claim the Gola Mosca's Cloud ring, Hibari was declared the winner. The Vongola Famiglia's 9th boss was also sent to a special hospital with the most advanced technology owned by Dino.
